There are many types of offset printing presses available. In today's time, very modern machines are available which can print very good quality. Thus let's look a
t the machine in 3 ways:-

Single-ColorSheetfed Offset

There is one set of printing cylinders in a single color offset. In this machine, one side of the paper can be printed in one color only.

Multi-Color Sheetfed Offset

There are 2,3,4,5,6, set of printing cylinders in multicolor offset. In this machine, you can print more than one color on one side of the paper.

Perfecting Sheetfed Offset

In this offset machine, sheets are printed on both sides of the paper at once.

Basic System of Sheetfed Offset

Plate Cylinder

In an offset machine, the plate is mounted on the plate cylinder. Where there is an image on this plate, ink is applied on it and the area where there is no image is left blank. In this way, the ink gets applied to the photographed area on the plate. Water and ink both move on the plate simultaneously. The ink is applied to the photo and the water cleans the excess ink on the plate.

Blanket Cylinder

The blanket cylinder in the offset machine is made of synthetic rubber. The photo which is on the plate is transferred to the blanket cylinder.

Impression Cylinder

This cylinder is a cylinder running in contact with the blanket cylinder, which moves the paper, and forces the paper forward against the ink blanket (the plate on which the ink is transferred).

Damping System

The damping system consists of a few rollers with a plate, on which a cotton cloth is fixed. These rollers contain some chemicals mixed with water such as some acid, gum, and isopropyl alcohol (dumping solution) which help in cleaning and moistening the plate.

Inking System

In this system, there is space to store the ink and from here the ink is transferred to the rollers. Ink rollers transfer the ink to the plate.

Paper Feeder

The paper to be printed is kept in the paper feeder, which transfers the paper one by one to the feeder tray. 

Sheet Register System

In the sheet register system, the paper coming from the feeder is sent to the machine in such a way that the entire sheet is fed to the cylinder at the same position so that all the papers are printed at the same position. Because of this, all the colors are matched properly by coming in the same position. 

Delivery

When all the colors are printed in the machine, delivery is used to properly collect those sheets in one place. In delivery, the paper is carried to the delivery with the help of a gripper rod. The paper to be printed is kept in the paper feeder, which transfers the paper one by one to the feeder tray.

Sheet Register System

In the sheet register system, the paper coming from the feeder is sent to the machine in such a way that the entire sheet is fed to the cylinder at the same position so that all the papers are printed at the same position. Because of this, all the colors are matched properly by coming in the same position.

ओफ़्सेट प्रिंटिंग

ओफ़्सेट प्रिंटिंग प्रेस कई प्रकार से उपलब्ध हैं। आज के समय में अत्य आधुनिक मशीन्स उपलब्ध हैं जिनसे बहुत ही अछि क्वालिटी की छपाई हो सकती है। इस प्रकार मशीन को ३ तरह से देखते हैं :

सिंगल-कलर शीटफेड ओफ़्सेट

सिंगल कलर ओफ़्सेट में प्रिंटिंग सिलेंडर का एक सेट होता है। इस मशीन में पेपर की एक साइड पर एक रंग में ही छपाई कर सकते हैं

मल्टी-कलर शीटफेड ओफ़्सेट

मल्टीकलर ओफ़्सेट में प्रिंटिंग सिलेंडर के 2,3,4,5,6, सेट होते है। इस मशीन में पेपर की एक साइड पर एक से अधिक रंग में ही छपाई कर सकते हैं

परफेक्टिंग शीटफेड ओफ़्सेट

इस ओफ़्सेट मशीन मे एक ही बार में पेपर के दोनों तरफ शीट प्रिंट की जाती हैं।

शीटफेड ऑफ़सेट प्रेस बेसिक सिस्टम 

प्लेट सिलेंडर

ऑफसेट मशीन में, प्लेट सिलेंडर पर प्लेट लगाई जाती है। इस प्लेट पर जहां कोई फोटो होती है, उस पर स्याही लग जाती है और जिस क्षेत्र में कोई फोटो नहीं होती है वो क्षेत्र खाली रह जाता है। इस तरह, प्लेट पर जहाँ फोटो होती है उस जगह पर स्याही लग जाती है। पानी और स्याही दोनों एक साथ प्लेट पर चलते हैं। स्याही फोटो पर लग जाती है और पानी प्लेट पर अतिरिक्त स्याही को साफ करता है।

कंबल सिलेंडर

ऑफसेट मशीन में कंबल सिलेंडर सिंथेटिक रबर से बना होता है। प्लेट पर जो फोटो होती है उसे कंबल सिलेंडर में स्थानांतरित कर दिया जाता है।

इम्प्रैशन (छाप) सिलेंडर

यह  सिलेंडर, ब्लैंकेट सिलेंडर के संपर्क में चलने वाला एक सिलेंडर है, जो कागज  को स्थानांतरित करता है, और स्याही वाले ब्लैंकेट (जिस पर प्लेट से स्याही स्थान्तरित हुई है )के खिलाफ कागज को आगे जाने पर मजबूर करता है।

डेम्पिंग (भिगोना) प्रणाली

डेम्पिंग प्रणाली में प्लेट के साथ कुछ रोलर्स होते हे, जिन पर सूती कपड़ा लगा होता है। इन रोलर्स मै पानी के साथ कुछ रसायन मिले होते हैं जैसे की कुछ तेज़ाब , गोंद, इसो प्रोपाइल अलकोहल (डम्पिंग सलूशन) जो की प्लेट को साफ और गिला करने में सहायता करते हैं।

इंकिंग (स्याही) सिस्टम

इस सिस्टम में स्याही को स्टोर करने की जगह होती है और यहाँ से स्याही रोलर्स पर स्थान्तरित होती है। स्याही रोलर्स , स्याही को प्लेट पर स्थनांतरित करते हैं।

पेपर फीडर

पेपर फीडर में जिन पेपर की छपाई करनी होती है उन पेपर को रखा जाता है जो कागज की एक-एक करके फीडर ट्रे को स्थान्तरित करता है।

शीट रजिस्टर सिस्टम

शीट रजिस्टर सिस्टम में फीडर से जो पेपर आता है उस पेपर को इस तरह से मशीन में भेजता है की साडी शीट एक ही पोजीशन पर सिलिंडर को फीड हो, जिससे सब पेपर एक ही पोजीशन पर छपे। इस कारन एक ही पोजीशन पर आने से सारे रंग का मिलान ठीक से होता है।

डिलीवरी (वितरण)

जब मशीन में सारे रंग छप जाते हैं, तब उन शीट को एक स्थान पर ठीक से एकत्रित करने के लिए डेलिवेरी का प्रयोग किया जाता है। डिलीवरी में पेपर, ग्रिपर रॉड की मदद से डिलीवरी तक पहुँचाया जाता है।
